Ceramic tiles

Ceramic tiles are some of the most widely used types of tiles installed in homes. They are basically made from clay. There are various categories of ceramic tiles, which are determined by the types of manufacturing process it underwent throughout production.

Porcelain Tiles

As a result of the high pressure, the sand starts to form like ceramic tiles. They are available in glazed and unglazed finish as well as polished and matte finish. Most people think of this type of tiles as through body which means that the porcelain composition is quite consistent.

Natural stones are largely comprised of granite, slate or marble. Several end products are polished to look shiny and honed. As a result, it makes them less slippery. Natural stone are not advisable for areas where water or grease may accumulate because it might change the color of the stone over time if it is constantly exposed. Natural Stones are very durable, it can last a lifetime, which is why this is exactly one of the most favorable tiles used for modern homes.

There are other different types of tile flooring like agglomerate and terrazzo. Terrazzo tiles are made of a granite or marble after which combined with epoxy matrix or Portland cement. Agglomerate on the other hand is nearly the same but instead of being combined with Portland cement or epoxy, they are mixed with polyester resin. These tiles may be polished however; the result will still be non-reflective.
